Boxing christmas ramblings. Friday, December 26, 2008 Boxing christmas ramblings. It's 7.31am, according to my computer clock. I'm actually up. and I can't sleep -_- My whole family and I just sent off my brother at the airport. He's flying to Cambodia for a holiday. Though it's a short trip, I miss him already. Christmas didn't start off well yesterday, but it did gradually get better, thanks to a few friends (: Most of all.. I'm glad it ended with dinner with my siblings at sushi tei in gardens. It has become our special place, whenever our parents are out and we have to find food for ourselves. We're gonna get the privilege card, heh heh. and we love that we the tee siblings stole christmas ;) This year.. it just doesn't feel very christmas-y. Don't get me wrong - I love the food, the carols, and the company and especially family. I just.. feel so. I'm not too sure if it's lack of preparation during Advent season, or that I'm too poor to give presents this year (thanks to my overspending), or that it's just this year. *shrugs* Or maybe I'm thinking too much about it. Guess what. Turns out Joseph wasn't just a carpenter - he was more talented than that. Bro explained to me in church that he actually was more of a artisan. He's a mason, haha! :P These translations really do affect the entire meaning of the word. A friend of mine was talking about the term "Boxing Day", that it's apparently just called so because it's really a boxing day after Christmas. We were discussing that since it's just a pseudo name used here, we might as well just called it for what it is - 26th dec, haha! :P Guess what. (yes, again :P) Turns out that traditionally, there is an actual Christmas Box, rofl! :D It basically was a box which collected alms for the poor and is opened after Christmas day. Interesting (: Time does affect the entire meaning of the word. (repetition, haha! ok couldn't help it.
