Entering 2009 - with plunge in $, but support of friends (: Saturday, January 03, 2009 Entering 2009 - with plunge in $, but support of friends (: Pluggin' into: You won't fall by Laura Higgins Well, I thought I'll blog about this, so that to make things clear. I'm broke. Like.. really broke. As what wing said today.. so broke that it's not even funny anymore. After paying off some debts.. let's just say I have a really small sum to work with. So.. I'll prolly go budget on stuff.. especially food. Which is especially hard for me, because I just realised that as the result of binge-ing, I may have developed a bad habit of eating. Crap. I just wanna say.. I'm really sorry, but that is really how tight I am with cash this month. I hate it. That I have to calculate change to cents, because of the knowledge that cents leads to dollars. That I can't round down or up anymore. That I actually have to think so much before buying anything. That going to town = spending $ = place of torture. I know we go to town because it's central.. but.. aside from hanging out with friends.. well, I can't stand window shopping. My policy is that if i can't buy it, then don't even bother looking. n on all levels, Town is Consumerism Central. That to such a large degree, the 'way of the world' actually applies - money is important -_- That I have to be so.. frugal. It's going against my nature. My god. The lesson of the year: SAVE. It's quite bad.. and it may seem and sound rather spoilt of me. but.. I ask for your understanding. I've never been in such a situation before. So.. if I appear stingy or like i'm asking weird requests.. sorry.. I'm just trying to sort all this out. Sigh. Well.. on the bright side.. QQ is there to encourage me through these hard times! ;) I love QQ (: 2009 started quite well :) After midnight mass with family, I had a funny conversation with jo, selina & dong. Later, I skyped with Sylvia :D That girl is so wrapped up, rofl!! I'm glad that she seems to be doing better these days. Jia you Sylvia!!! You can do it yes, you can! ;D Love ya babe!!! :) In the day, I went to get my bro from the airport with family - I'm so glad he's home :) In the evening, I joined the 3 at Selina's house, eating chicken wings [they're good! :D] , watching tv & videos and basically bumming around :P Then I had a very sweet happy near year call from a dear brudder of mine :) Hearing your voice always makes me wide-grin! :D Thanks hot stuff!! :) Today, I woke up early to watch that Ponyo movie with hl, ali & ser. I still think Ponyo isn't That cute and she's quite a clown *faints* Lisa, on the other hand, rocks :D The gals were sweet, as they tried to plan my finances. Thanks gals.. though it may not seem like it, I did learn a lot from you all :) We next tried Mission: Find Ali new sandals URGENT!!!, but alas.. it was a huger task than all of us could imagine. HL's tired face can testify! :P We met wing, jo & dong in centrepoint, where they basically had an Anti-Ponyo Bashing [5 against 1 is Totally NOT FAIR! :P]. Later, I met the 3 to hang a little more in town. and that's where QQ came in :) There were a bunch of guys selling balloons outside heeren, and there was this most adorable penguin one - super cute lah! Jo caught me staring at it. Later, when yt left, jo said she'll walk her out. We wanted to all walk her to her bus-stop, but jo whispered something in wing's ear and suddenly wing went "sarah, let's go see slippers." Later, when I asked wing what jo said, she said "Oh, nothing." -_- (liar!!) Next thing I knew, when I turned around, I saw Jojo coming up the escalator with the penguin balloon!! I was damn shocked!!! Like.. WOW!!!!! Really touched to the max. and that was how, upon closer inspection, we found out that the penguin had "QQ" printed on his left. Thanks gals.. it really means a lot to me :) Then Jo & wing headed to my house. We watched Tropic thunder while eating. Dinner rocks - nuggets, onion rings, cup noodles and leftovers. Homely :) Thanks friends.. for making the start of this new year so lovely (: I love you all! *BIGGEST HUGS IN THE WORLD* :D I better go sleep now. Novena to go to!! Yes.. I shall give thanks.. and pray ;) | |
