Hiding behind jackets :)
Friday, January 22, 2010

I thought I was falling sick, cos I had runny nose these past days and my throat felt funny. Today, seeing the Marina IR in a blur, I realised it's not me - it's HAZE. Ironically, today's lecture in Fullerton was about air purifying, HAHA. Also ironic was that the seminar room's air-con wasn't working very well either.

Char and I wanted to watch Did you Hear About the Morgans, but they took it out. Super sad :( Instead we watched Law Abiding Citizen, cos Gerard Butler was inside. Only 15 secs of his pecs, but he acted really well. So did Jamie Foxx. It was unexpectedly gory and suspenseful, but brilliant in its plot and delivery. It makes you think about the justice system and the power of technology. I enjoyed hiding behind the jackets - thanks brudder! :)

As I was reflecting, I realised.. I've kinda become a hermit. Especially the 2nd half of last year, where I didn't really go out, or get in touch, or hang around facebook. I've become lazy :( I also find it more difficult to make friends.. somehow, I'm not as open and trusting as I used to. I have to change that.

During choir prac, the question of "where are you in your faith" popped up. I think I'm kinda at a stable stage. To me, God's no Santa Claus, but he's definitely watching over me. More like a caring guardian. I know I don't really go all out doing good deeds and stuff, but it's good to know he's still around :)

On a side note, I don't believe in spiritual drought - I think it's a lame convenient excuse. I would like to believe that faith is built and grounded on more than that.

In the train today, I looked for a way to move in, cos the crowd at dhoby was pushing me. An ang mo woman moved in, and I quickly slotted myself into the gap. I thanked her and fiddled with my nano. As I looked around, I noticed that the white guy on my right was making eye contact with the woman on my left. The thought then hit me ".. are they friends/ a couple?" and later.. "omg, did I cut them??!!"

I felt rather guilty, so I contemplated whether to move, or to ask the man if he wanted to swap with me. 4 more stops, and the 2 were still making eye contact and facial gestures. I was thinking, "cannot lah, I can't go between them" (literally, HAHA.) So i took out an earphone, and asked the man, "do you want to switch positions with me?" He replied "It's ok, I'm getting off 2 stops later." (serangoon, same as me). I then resumed to my music, feeling a bit better.

and guess what. As we got off the train, I thought the man would pause and wait for the woman. HE DIDN'T!!! and it dawned on me.. OMG, I think they didn't know each other at all!! CHEYZ. SUPER FAINTS.

and I went home :P
